Cali - Border Collie Puppy

Shelter: BC SPCA - Kamloops Animal ID: 473344 Birthdate: May 13, 2018 - Puppy Spayed/Neutered: No Female Cali is a young, active pup who can be a little unsure of new things. She needs to be introduced to people and new situations slowly. She would thrive with an active guardian who is dog savvy and can help her build up her confidence with positive reinforcement and gentle handling. Cali is very sweet, loving, and full of energy. She tends to get easily over excited and needs lots of exercise and outings with a guardian. She will certainly make a great partner for adventures with a little work. Cali would benefit from some basic obedience training with her new person. She can be prone to jumping up in her excitement and is a bit unsure on leash. Young children might not be a good match for Cali but older kids would likely be fine with some time for her to adjust and bond. At the moment Cali is nervous and intimidated around other dogs. She should be introduced slowly to dogs and rewarded for relaxed behaviour and play. We think with a little time she would be very happy to have a canine friend. We're not sure how she would do with cats. Cali may get anxious when left alone. She will need to get used to spending time alone slowly a few minutes at a time in her new environment. We feel certain this cutie will make an awesome companion for someone who enjoys an active life and wants an energetic and loving dog to join them in the fun. A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.
