Optimus - Belgian Malinois Dog

Shelter: BC SPCA - Kamloops & District Branch Animal ID: 508909 Birthdate: September 05, 2011 - Senior Spayed/Neutered: Yes Male Optimus is an 8yr old Malinois x Collie. He was surrendered for being too high energy for his previous owner. Optimis is initially fearful w strangers and does take sometime to warm up to new people. It's important his future guardian(s) work on and reward him for calm/relaxed behaviour when meeting new people. He might be considered a "senior" but don't let his age fool you! He still has tons of energy and tends to get easily over excited. So he needs a guardian(s) that can provide lots of exercise and outings. Optimus may want to chase moving things like bikes, animals or children. Good obedience and a confident guardian is important. He needs a home with no cats or young children. Optimus needs a more quiet environment. He is fully house-trained and has also been crate trained in his previous home. A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal to help ensure success in the new home.
