Shelter: BC SPCA - Kamloops
Animal ID: 461785
Birthdate: May 24, 2017 - Adult
Qi'ra came into the care of the BC SPCA when she was trapped in a feral colony. She was quite sick when she came in but once handled it was obvious she was not feral at all as she melted into pets. She loves getting attention and as many pets as she can get. She is not used to being picked up so can still be nervous and uncomfortable with it. She's had a rough start to life and hasn't known what it's like to live in a home and be loved. She may be anxious and nervous in new environments, initially tending to hide, but with a patient, gentle, and loving guardian we are certain she will continue to blossom into the amazing, loving companion she can be. Because Qi'ra is used to living in a colony with lots of cats she would most likely be happy in a multi-cat home. She can still be shy at times and a home without young children is recommended.
Qi'ra had a very serious upper respiratory infection among other concerns when she came into the shelter and has been undergoing treatment. She may have chronic upper respiratory issues through her life so an adopter would need to be prepared to keep up with regular vet exams to keep Qi'ra healthy and strong. Once in a home environment she will hopefully continue to improve.
A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.
